I was watching this movie “Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri” recently, and I was blown away by this movie. The direction, story, screenplay, dialogues, emotions, character build-up in the movie is at another level.
The movie is about how a mother’s struggle in her town after posting billboards containing a call to action in regards to her murdered daughter. The story shows people in their realistic characters and their genuine emotions.
There are so many moments in the movie that I can talk and write about, but there a moment where I just could not control my emotions and want to share it with everyone.
The scene is that the mother comes back to her daughter’s room in the dark. The room is well maintained and cleaned up, probably the mother is visiting the room every day in the hope that she could see her daughter one more time. The next scene was a flashback where her 16-year-old daughter is asking her mother if she can borrow the car and mother said a big NO. Just like in all American movies the mother, the daughter and the son are using some obscene words:
The girl said “are you gonna let me borrow the car or what”, the angry mother said “Why don’t you just walk Angela? why don’t you just walk?”
The girl replied “You know what? I will walk! I will walk! And you know what else? I hope I get raped on the way! “
Yeh! I hope you get raped on the way too!! the mother replied.
The next scene is the mother in her daughter’s room that never returned after that evening as got raped and murdered.
The pain that the mother is suffering is unbearable, she can try anything but her last words to her daughter going to be the last and would be stuck in her heart for the rest of the life.
Please Please Please!! Never say or do anything wrong to anyone cause you never know what the future is bringing you. You may not have the strength to face the future. You may have to regret all your life about that one simple line that you uttered in anger.
